At Four Corners Photography, we believe in documenting the little moments. It is in those moments that the bigger story of your life's adventure is told.

Don't feel awkward in front of the camera, just be together!

When I decided to do a shoot in Venice of just the two of us, I planned what we would wear and everything, but honestly dreaded the shoot itself. I always feel awkward in front of the camera and wasn't really sure what it would be like doing photos together without our little toddler running around. I was excited anyways and woke up early so we could get to St. Mark's Square before the tourism started for the day, but nothing was working.

I had a sinus infection and couldn't breathe, my curling iron fried as soon as I plugged it in so I could do nothing with my hair, and my steamer also died so my dress was a crumbled mess.

Instead of getting upset about these compounding things, I decided to go with the flow and just enjoy being with my husband. I am easily anxious, so that was huge for me to let it all go, but I'm so glad that I did. I didn't focus at all on how I looked because I felt like a hot mess, instead I focused on this man who I married 7 years ago and how much we've been together since. We talked about our first date, first kiss, whispered in each other's ear "I love you" as much as we could, and it was one of the most beautiful mornings of our entire trip.

As a wedding and couple photographer, I encourage clients to focus on each other, but now that I've lived through the experience of being on the other side of the camera, I can't say this enough.

Forget about the camera. Forget about your awkward. We are all awkward.

I encourage you to leave your nerves at home and forget about anything but being together. Look into each other's eyes, be playful, silly, remember the first time you said "I love you," call each other pet names, make jokes about the laugh lines or wrinkles you have now but it's okay because you've made them together.

Truly, these are some of the most precious images to me in the entire world simply because I let go, got lost in love with my husband, and my talented friend Serena Genovese has outdone herself here! Here are a few of the images from our session together in Venice, enjoy!
