2016 Year in Review - It's Been a Whirlwind!!
To say it has been a whirlwind of a year would be an understatement actually. I began 2016 with a vision of investing more in the stories and lives of my clients, to truly become more than a photographer and step into the realm of storyteller. I never thought that throughout the year, by investing more in my clients, they would begin to invest more in me! I was able to completely leave my full time salaried job and pursue a life of storytelling. The images you see here are more than just highlights of the year, these moment have shaped me, made me into a person who loves the beautiful work that I get to do on a daily basis!
As I look back on 2016, it was a year of firsts: traveling out of the country for the first time, buying and making our first home, pursuing full time entrepreneurship. And now I look forward to a year of even more firsts in 2017: building my studio, booking more weddings in one year than I've shot collectively since I've been in business, switching primarily to film photography. I hope that through all of the newness, I continue to pursue this passion of photography with a fresh eye, an open heart, and a steady trigger finger.
I am overwhelmed that through the art of photography, I am invited in to celebrate the birth of a baby, the exchange of lifelong vows with a partner, and the joy of family. I love that I get to tell fart jokes, kiss babies on the head (I am a compulsive baby head kisser, I can't help it), and frolic through fields with newlyweds as my job! This has been and continues to be one of the greatest adventures of my life!
With that, here are a few of the highlights of 2016:
- Weddings Photographed: 10
- Portrait Sessions (Newborn + Family): 125
- Images Delivered to Clients: 20,000+
- Personal Images Taken: 7,000
- Work Published: 10 times
- Main event: I quit my corporate job to pursue full time creative entrepreneurship!! You can read more about that here.
Trust me, I wanted to blog everything, but here are a few highlights of my year in images. Enjoy!
