At Four Corners Photography, we believe in documenting the little moments. It is in those moments that the bigger story of your life's adventure is told.

We are all awkward turtles: what to do with your hands during a photo session.

During a session, one of the main questions I get from clients is this: "what do I do with my hands?"

It's important for you to know that I get this question from all kinds of people, regardless of how many times they have been in front of the camera. I want you to know that this is a completely normal and common thing and you shouldn't feel ashamed if you, too, don't know what to do with your hands. We are all incredibly awkward, we have these weird bodies and weird hands and we all struggle with knowing what to do when the camera is on us.

The answer, though, is so incredibly simple! And I actually answer this question of what to do with hands with another question: "what are hands made for?" Well, hands are made to hold, touch, experience the world. So that is exactly what I recommend! During a photo session, I encourage you to use your hands to hold someone important to you, touch the cheek of your loved one, hold hands with your partner, wrap everyone up in a big hug...and that's it!

See, it's not so bad...just show some love and don't worry about the awkward.
