Four Corners Photography

At Four Corners Photography, we believe in documenting the little moments. It is in those moments that the bigger story of your life's adventure is told.

Is there something in my teeth?

As a photographer, I get that question all the time. My honest answer? I really don't care.

To explain why, let me tell you a story. Please excuse me if I walk a little too far down metaphor lane. I can't control myself sometimes.

I had braces as a teenager and got them off when I was in high school. The first thing I wanted to eat was a Subway sandwich because the soft doughy bread wouldn't get stuck between my braces anymore. So I bit into my toasted veggie sub, said something sassy to my brother, and grinned like the Cheshire cat to show off my now perfect teeth. I didn't get the reaction I expected. My mom and brother looked a little startled and then exploded into uncontrollable laughter. It should seem there was a large piece of spinach pasted to pretty much the entire top row of my pearly whites.

After I got over the initial embarrassment, here is what I learned: Even perfect teeth will get something stuck in them from time to time. Could be something sweet, like caramel. That's not so bad; the sweetness just lasts longer. Could be something terrible, like celery strings, which is a horrible experience and should be avoided at all costs. Either way, to me, that's the beauty and the mystery of life. Sometimes, things just get stuck in teeth.

So, if you ask me the question, "is something stuck in my teeth?" I will let you know. But be aware that I think you're beautiful even with spinach leaves in your teeth. And I hope your sandwich (or salad) was delicious.
